What You Should Know
This excise tax, commonly referred to as a sin tax, will take effect on October 1st, 2022. Targeting the disposable and pre-filled pod markets, the tax rate is $1.00 for every 2 mL with containers holding less vaping fluid than 10 mL. The price would be $5 for the first 10 mL of containers containing more than 10 mL and $1 for each additional 10 mL.

New federal tax on vape products, The total excise duty on a 30 mL bottle of vaping liquid would be $7.00 ($5.00 for the first 10 ml and $2.00 for the remaining 20 ml). A tax of $10 would be applied to a bottle of 60 mL, $5 for the first 10 mL and another $5 for each extra mL. Tax for a 120 mL bottle would be $15 in total, $5 for the first 10 mL and $10 for each extra mL.
